Redouté first illustrated this rose in Les Roses. It is R. hemisphaerica, the Double Sulphur Rose of ancient origins. This second illustration appeared in Choix, titled with the botanical name, ‘Rose Sulfurea’ and the French name ‘Rose jaune de soufre’
