Other Rose Paintings

Although Redouté painted thousands of original watercolour portraits during his lifetime, only a very small number are known and catalogued for posterity.

While it’s believed that some originals have been destroyed, it’s thought that many still exist in private collections and perhaps in time they will surface.

This section of the web site shows a small collection of portraits Redouté painted with a rose subject that were either not published in Les Roses or Choix des Plus Belles Fleurs (Redoute’s Finest Flowers), or are pictures of original paintings.
